Before You Take the Wheel: The Journey of Your New JAC
Taking delivery of a brand-new JAC is an exciting moment. But have you ever stopped to think about everything that happens between your vehicle leaving the manufacturer and arriving at CMH JAC Hatfield, ready for you to drive away?
Before your JAC becomes your everyday workhorse, family vehicle or adventure companion, it has already travelled a journey of its own. And those first few kilometres on the odometer are simply part of that journey.
From the Factory to Your Driveway
Once your JAC has completed its manufacturing process, it begins its journey to South Africa. On arrival, vehicles are securely stored at designated stockyards before being allocated and transported to dealerships.
During this process, your JAC may be driven short distances as it is moved within storage facilities, loaded and unloaded for transportation, or positioned for its next stage of delivery.
This means that when you take delivery of your brand-new JAC, the odometer may show a small number of kilometres rather than 0 km.
And that’s perfectly normal.
Those kilometres are generally a reflection of the vehicle’s journey and preparation before it reaches you, not a history of previous ownership.
What Happens Once Your JAC Reaches the Dealership?
When your JAC arrives at CMH JAC Hatfield, the journey isn’t quite over yet.
Before the keys are handed over, our team takes the necessary steps to prepare the vehicle for its new owner. This includes the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).
The PDI is an important part of the delivery process, during which trained technicians inspect the vehicle and check key mechanical, electrical and safety-related systems to ensure that it is ready for the road.
Your JAC may also be moved around the dealership or driven for short distances while it is being prepared.
So, those few kilometres on the odometer aren’t an indication that your JAC has been previously owned. They are simply part of the journey involved in getting your new vehicle ready for you.
Why the Pre-Delivery Inspection Matters
Before your JAC takes on its first journey with you, it needs to go through its final checks.
The PDI gives our team the opportunity to ensure that the vehicle’s key systems and features have been inspected and that it meets the necessary standards before handover.
It’s one more way of making sure that when you climb behind the wheel, your JAC is prepared for the road ahead.
Whether it’s going to be carrying a load, tackling the daily commute, heading out on a long-distance trip or taking you somewhere off the beaten track, preparation matters.
Those First Few Kilometres Have a Story to Tell
It’s easy to look at an odometer showing a few kilometres and wonder, “Is this really a brand-new vehicle?”
The answer is yes.
Those kilometres can be accumulated through transportation, stockyard movements, dealership preparation and the checks carried out before your vehicle is handed over.
They are simply a small part of the journey your JAC has already made.
And once those keys are placed in your hand, an entirely new journey begins.
The kilometres that follow will be yours, the early morning starts, work trips, family getaways, long-distance adventures and all the everyday moments in between.
Your JAC Journey Starts Here
At CMH JAC Hatfield, we believe that taking delivery of a new vehicle is about more than simply receiving the keys.
It’s about knowing that your vehicle has been properly prepared, understanding what goes into the delivery process and driving away with confidence.
So, the next time you see a few kilometres on the odometer of a brand-new JAC, remember: those kilometres are part of the journey that brought your vehicle to you.
The next chapter is yours to write.
